Today’s Special: The Small and Mighty Kumquat

From the top: Chocolate Kumquat Tartlets by Caren Blair, Pistachio Almond Cake with Candied Kumquats by Sally Pasley Vargas, Beet Lasagna withKumquat Chutney by Annetts Kulinarisches Tagebuch, and Kumquat & Rainbow Chard Stem Pizza by Keepin’ it Kind

If fruits were cities, the cute, tiger-orange kumquat would be Manhattan – tiny, but frenetically bustling with more flavor per square mile than conceivably possible. It won’t be long before this little sprite of a bite slams onto the shelves of produce stands, so, in preparation for its seasonal debut, we’ve whisked together sundry, mouthwatering recipes for inspiration.

‘Scuse us now…our stomachs are rumbling from the sight of all these delectable dishes, and we gotta go find something to sate our envious palates!

I honestly don’t think I’ve knowingly tried a kumquat before. I love to take full advantage of seasonal foods, so thanks for the great inspiration! These all look amazing.
