Chocolate-covered clementines from the ModCloth Blog

In my family, it’s a holiday tradition to give and receive chocolate oranges throughout the month of December. While nothing can beat slamming that solid orb of chocolate against the table to break apart the citrus-shaped sections, sometimes you want something a little swankier. If you’re looking for a recipe that’s as easy as it is impressive, these sea-salt dusted delicacies are not only a cinch to whip up with only three ingredients, but impressive enough to serve your guests at your next holiday fete!

Chocolate and Sea Salt-covered Clementines
Makes about 35 wedges

7-8 small to medium clementines, peeled and segmented
1/4-1/2 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
1 tablespoon coarse sea salt

1. Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper.

2. Melt your chocolate using two nested glass ingredient bowls, pouring 1/8 cup of water between them. Microwave on high for 15 seconds at a time, making sure to stir the chocolate as you go. Continue microwaving until all the chocolate is smooth and melted.

3. Working in small batches, carefully dip one end of each clementine in the melted chocolate.

4. Before the chocolate hardens, carefully dip the chocolate end of each segment in the sea salt.

4. Place your segments on the parchment paper and allow to harden.

5. To serve, arrange segments on a plate and garnish with un-dipped wedges or whole clementines.

Enjoy!
