Takes the Cake: Signe Sugar’s Colorful ‘n’ Cute 3-D Lettering

This morning, we’re loving the sweet letter stylings of Signe Sugar, an indie shop by Brooklyn creative Sarah Foote that sells ingenious sugar and gum paste cake toppers that are almost too cute to handle.

“When I was 14, I worked for a bakery,” Sarah explains on her blog. “People would come in needing birthday cakes for their loved ones, and if the cake decorator happened to be in she could write ‘Happy Birthday’ on it. But it never actually looked good — the letters were usually off-center and not uniform in size. This idea has been stirring since those days.”
