The Diner Things in Life

ModCloth model Alex on the set of Summer in Focus

Truly, we couldn’t have found a more apt location for the second chapter of our Summer in Focus stylebook than Los Angeles’ Cafe 50′s. This classic diner was the site of some of our most stunning shots, and we’re excited to share more snaps from it. Get ready for some major retro inspiration!

Put on a filter on this, and it could be a photo from 1955. Oh, except for the guy on his cell phone, of course!

While you have coffee and pie, you can explore vintage LIFE magazine covers and Americana ephemera.

ModCloth model Jessie

Much like this diner evokes the style of the ’50s, model Jessie’s outfit does the same. Doesn’t she seem to fit right in?

Vintage pulp postcards

Lastly, what ’50s excursion is complete without a reference to pulp ephemera?

Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes peeks at the June installment of our summer stylebook!

About Angela

Someday, Angela will be tending to her sheep, llamas and alpacas on the “Yarn Farm” and raising award winning honey bees. Until then, the native Pittsburgher is enjoying all things related to knitting, her cats, Mr. Spock, red lipstick, and creativity. Writing is her first true love.

Ah, Cafe 50′s is the best in the west. Where else can you find fried mac and cheese!? You heard me.
