The Fourth of July is, hands down, my all-time favorite holiday. Devoid of the pressure that often accompanies the crush of holidays over late-autumn and winter, the Fourth is a laid-back affair, with the focus on friends, fireworks, and, of course: food.
If you’re looking for the perfect dish to bring along to your July Fourth festivities, here’s a super simple recipe, perfect for any party — a patriotically-hued fruit salad comprised of blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, jicama, and almonds. With only a handful of ingredients, this cooling summer salad comes together fast, and easily impresses with its refreshing taste and fireworks-burst of colors. Pair this easy, breezy salad with a backyard barbeque and the Taking on Tulsa Dress, and you’ll be ringing in America’s birthday in sweet, summery style!
