Witness One Second on the Internet

Simply presented and staggering to behold, the site One Second on the Internet is our interwebs rec of the day. The site leads you in with the teaser: “In one second on the internet there are…” and then unfurls the internet before your eyes, revealing the sheer volume of internet activity that happens in a single second. Tweets tweeted, Skype calls initiated, e-mails sent, Dropbox files uploaded, Reddit votes cast… the numbers are more than a little mind-blowing. It’s wild to think about how so many of these products didn’t exist a decade ago, but are now so tightly and comfortably woven into our daily habits.

About Jenn

Jenn's first career aspiration was to be a dinosaur. After her kindergarten teacher informed her that couldn't happen, she decided she would be the next best thing: a writer. Aside from writing, Jenn loves chambray shirts, all cacti, and good typography.
