Our last Style Gallery Star Sighting lit up the blog, but this third one’s a charm with a sartorial scoop on another chic contributor, Alyssa M. from Newark, Delaware. As a manager at Clothes in the Past Lane — a new and vintage clothing boutique — she dons novelty prints, pastels, florals, and polka dots while helping shoppers find their perfect pieces. We’re divulging just some of the multi-colored magic behind Alyssa’s ensembles, but her blog, Butterflies on Mars, is a posh pot o’ gold for more. So, check it out!
“I find fashion a way to sort of create the world I like to live in,” Alyssa muses. “For me that usually means a crazy colorful and fun one, or a flash from the past. I look to people from the past for inspiration. I love looking at photos of Twiggy, Brigitte Bardot, and Mary Quant.”
Alyssa’s signature style influences her lifestyle, too. “Using my paintings of moths and butterflies, I created a fabric that I had printed and will now be using to make my own skirts and dresses,” she explains. “I love healthy cooking and baking, working out, taking walks outside, yoga, teaching at my local nature center, raising giant silkmoths, photography, and finding vintage treasures.”
Among her list of inspirations, Alyssa includes the Style Gallery collections of ModHelena L. and Annika V.. Join the fashion adventure by browsing outfit photos, and add a shot of your next lovely look. You never know who will light up our next Style Gallery Star Sighting!
