Happy Video Game Day!

Happy Video Game Day, via the ModCloth Blog

Bleep bloop! The calendar websites of the interwebz inform us that today is unofficially Video Game Day — and you know what, we’ll take that unofficial holiday and run with it. Who’s in for a 10-hourlong video game party?

Whether you’re a diehard gamer or button-mashing dilettante who played a couple of games on your friends’ Nintendo, we think we can all agree that video games are pretty great.

Do you remember the first game you ever played? (Mine was Duck Hunt. I asked a few of my coworkers what theirs were, and theirs were: Pong, The Legend of Zelda, Paperboy, and this amazingly old-school baseball game.)

About Jenn

Jenn's first career aspiration was to be a dinosaur. After her kindergarten teacher informed her that couldn't happen, she decided she would be the next best thing: a writer. Aside from writing, Jenn loves chambray shirts, all cacti, and good typography.

yeah, Atari Pitfall. I would play it backwards for some reason, I guess I thought it was easier that way? then Chilvary on the computer — the original green and black version, as well as the original green and black version of Oregon Trail. I remember playing SuperNintendo Mario Bros. in middle school and never getting past level three because I thought it was soooo hard! that said, I don’t play video games much lol

Wow can’t believe I’ve never heard of Video Game Day until right now! That is so freaking awesome! Next year, I am totally using this as a good excuse for a crazy long marathon! :D My first game was Duck Hunt too, on the old Nintendo :D That, and Super Mario Bros, which, yes, I always got stuck on too :D Hooray for video games!
