Lucid Dreaminess with Keep Shelly in Athens

The best way I can describe the song “Recollection” by Keep Shelly in Athens is that listening to it feels like waking into a dream. The four-minute track is a kaleidoscope of hazy, hypnotic sounds: gentle synth distortions, airy vocals, and swelling beats that makes the song feel simultaneously tangible and intangible. While the Greek duo — whose band name is a pun off the Athenian neighborhood of Kypseli — offers a slew of harder-hitting, more-lounge-less-loungepants songs on their newly released album, At Home, it’s the lucid dreaminess of “Recollection” that we fall for, again and again.

What are you guys listening to this week?
