It’s officially October, which can only mean one thing: it’s time to start searching for that perfect Halloween look! Over the next couple of weeks, our ModStylists will share three spooktacular Halloween ensembles so you can get ghoulishly gorgeous. Whether you’re headed to a mid-century-themed cocktail party, a Halloween happy hour, or going gorgeously, gruesomely, all out on the night itself, there’s a ‘boo-tiful’ look that’s perfect for the occasion.

For our first post in this series, we’re kicking things off with a nifty ’50s-inspired outfit, modeled by none other than myself! For a look that will drive all the other guests ‘mad’, you can’t go wrong with an eye-catching LBD, cat-eye shades, and patent heels. Finish the look off with a bold red lip and winged liner, and a dramatic swoop of a hairstyle and you’ll have a truly marvelous mid-century look.

About Julie O.

A lover of all things vintage and vintage-inspired, Julie bought her first 1950s frock in the fifth grade. Since then, Julie has become a self-described connoisseur of vintage and thrift shopping, which she shares on her blog, Orchid Grey. When she’s not scouring the racks for the perfect vintage skirt, this native New Englander can be found deftly navigating the slopes of a ski mountain, taking road-trips to the beach, and exploring new places with a vintage camera in her hand.

Pft, it’s more fun to dress like this everyday! I’m going dressed as a hamburger for Hallowe’en. It was the one thing that was truly outside of my scope of daily wear.

This is not a Halloween costume. You didn’t even give it a name! This is a date outfit or a NBD, just having tea with the girls outfit. By the looks of your tattoos, I would guess you wouldn’t think of this as a costume, either. I’m scratching my head over here.
