From glittering dresses, to sparkling glasses of champagne to toast as the clock strikes midnight, there’s no denying the delights of the holiday season. As we prepare to present our presents and ring in the new year, why not add just one final flourish to your outfit? Whether you’re looking to add a unique accessory to your seasonal ensemble, or seeking a stand-out DIY to make for a friend, these hair jewelry DIYs are the perfect gift to give yourself or someone you hold dear.

I whipped up these three hair accessories using supplies I found at the craft store, but each piece can be customized to suit your taste. Make them your own by adding ribbon, bows, gems, or restyled vintage jewelry from the thrift store. Even better? Whether your hair is long or short, one of these pieces is sure to suit you!

Using your scissors, cut your fabric into strips lengthwise. Tie to one end of the wire, and begin to tightly braid the fabric over the wire, once you reach the end of the wire, tie off the fabric and trim the ends. Using your super glue, attach one end of the chain to one end of your wrapped wire, allow to dry, then string the chain around the wrapped wire, gluing into place as you go. Finish by gluing a flower to each end.
