Trend Forecast: Culture, Color & Cool for 2014

There’s a lot to look forward to in fashion this upcoming year! With dreamy silhouettes, rainbows of color, and patterns born of all different cultures, playing with fashion has never been more fun! Today, I’ve pulled together the trends I’m most looking forward to, so you can start planning your 2014 style resolutions. See how some of my favorite fashion bloggers modeled the spring and summer trends I’ve dubbed ‘Culture’, ‘Color’ and ‘Cool’:

Culture: If you can’t make it to Bali or Peru, don’t get discouraged. With the Internet, daydreaming about global getaways has never been more easy. Plus, you can always dress the part! Try on modern silhouettes in traditional patterns or gauzy renditions of traditional shapes; Spring is all about the culture you’re musing over.

Color: It’s not revolutionary, but it sure is welcome! After the colorless chill of the winter months, colors resembling the blooms that are blossoming bring a little vitality back to your life. This spring I’m especially excited about sunny yellows, citrusy oranges and punchy hues of blue.

Cool: I use this term lightly, after all, cool comes in all kinds of forms. But for spring, I’m adding a little personality to my ensembles with edgy accents and geek-chic accessories. To take it up a notch, pair them with monochromatic outfits of white or black. — By Elisa, Community Specialist
