Never has a gigantic spider, large enough to host it’s own tea party, been quite so alluring. Enter the world of self-taught artist Mr. Finch, a Yorkshire-based artist with a fascination for flora and fauna of every distinction.

Inspired by the natural world hidden in the woods behind his house, as much as the fantasy world of British folklore, Mr. Finch crafts his awe-inspiring work from found materials, including vintage wedding dresses, old curtains, and antique aprons. “It’s a joy to hunt for things for my work…the lost, found and forgotten all have places in what I make” explains Mr. Finch on his website, “…my pieces use recycled materials, not only as an ethical statement, but I believe they add more authenticity and charm.”

From embroidered bunnies to fluffy, furry bees, Mr. Finch’s work is certainly enchanting. Check out a few of our favorites, and be sure to pay his full portfolio a visit!

About Julie O.

A lover of all things vintage and vintage-inspired, Julie bought her first 1950s frock in the fifth grade. Since then, Julie has become a self-described connoisseur of vintage and thrift shopping, which she shares on her blog, Orchid Grey. When she’s not scouring the racks for the perfect vintage skirt, this native New Englander can be found deftly navigating the slopes of a ski mountain, taking road-trips to the beach, and exploring new places with a vintage camera in her hand.
