I’ve always loved dinosaurs — everything about them is just so cool. I mean, their names are awesome (Tyrannosaurus, Brachiosaurus, and Velociraptor spring to mind as examples), they look FIERCE, and they were around for over 150 million years. It doesn’t get much cooler than that.
Like most little kids in the early ’90s, my first dino-love was Littlefoot from The Land Before Time. I saw it in the theater with my family, and Sharptooth totally gave me nightmares. Later, I caught a PBS special about paleontology, and that became my dreamed-of career all through middle school. When Jurassic Park came out, I watched it over and over again. I even bought the soundtrack and read the books and dreamed about dinosaurs (my Sharptooth nightmares long gone by that point.)

When it came time to pick a college major, I went with creative writing, with archaeology as my minor to keep the dream alive. After graduation, I ended up here at ModCloth, and while it isn’t strictly related to paleontology, when the news broke that dinosaurs were most likely feathered and colorful, the extinct creatures of the past suddenly took on a fashionable new life. We also carry some pretty raptor-ous dino-themed items. Check them out!
