When you hear ‘synchronized swimming’ you might only imagine a select group of untouchable Olympic athletes, but one nation-wide company wants you to think about it as a major form of entertainment. The Aqualillies, a professional synchronized swimming/dance troupe oozing with retro vibes and enough athletic prowess to make you green with envy, have been performing all across the country for people such as the cast members of “Glee,” Justin Timberlake, and even the folks at Disney World. Yes, they’ve performed for A LOT of peeps.

Driven by founder and director Mesha Kussman, she and her team of highly talented — and super inspiring — ‘lillies spend a majority of their day poolside, learning new routines, training for upcoming performances, and surrounding themselves with positive energy (that’s them above, rocking ModCloth’s adorable Esther Williams suits).

We caught up with Mesha during a recent practice at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica to find out more about the company and, of course, to learn why she has the best job ever. Check it out:
