Keep your eyes peeled for our Geek Chic style book, dear readers! Why? In addition to all the brilliant fashion, our upcoming campaign features radiant, red-haired model Dawn looking positively fab in all her adorable looks. Dawn, a new mom, creative spirit, and proud tall gal (she’s 6′ 1″) gleams in this roundup of playful patterns and sweet accessories.

Get to know Dawn in our Q&A. How would you answer our interview questions? Let us know in the comments!

What fashion “don’t” do you think should be a “do?”
You can’t beat a practical storage compartment conveniently located at your waist. I would probably store some snacks in mine. And Chapstick. And hand sanitizer. I think the 2014 fanny pack should be bigger and better than the fanny packs of the past. This would be more like a fanny tire, and you would have 360 degrees of room for your belongings and never have to carry a purse again.

What’s your secret talent or unexpected area of expertise?
My unexpected area of expertise is shoe shopping. I am extremely talented at pairing the perfect heels with any outfit. People don’t expect me to love heels or wear them because I am already so tall, but I don’t really look at myself as tall. Everyone else just seems kind of short, by comparison. I think it is silly when tall girls won’t wear heels and only wear flats. Be proud! And work it, girl!!

What are you most passionate about?
I am passionate about being the best mom possible, because my daughter is the center of my universe and my reason for breathing. I didn’t know it was possible to love so much until she came along. I feel so lucky to have her! Every morning feels like Christmas when I wake up and get to see her big, beautiful smile and shining blue eyes.

What’s something that fascinates you?
I could walk around antique stores and shop all day long. I love the thrill of finding something I’ve never seen before or figuring out what something was used for. There is just something about them. It’s like walking back in time and getting a glimpse of the past.

When you’re having a down day, what do you do for an instant pick-me-up?
Run! And run some more…until my legs give out. I think exercise is a great way to relieve stress and feel good about yourself. Usually if your mind is racing and you’re getting stressed about this and that, you can wear yourself out by running faster than your mind is going! Then you sleep really well too.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever given or received?
Always remember that tomorrow is not a promise, so don’t take people for granted. You never know when will be the last time you see someone so make sure you always let people know how much they mean to you. When I was younger, I never understood how fragile life is until I lost my Dad. I had probably a million missed opportunities for hugs, heart-to-hearts, laughs, etc. when he was alive. Now, I’d give my right arm just to see him smile one more time.

Outside of modeling, what hobbies, jobs, or activities fill your time?
I like being creative and artistic. I enjoy taking pictures. Drawing. Crafting. Scrapbooking. Making jewelry. And just recently, I have been very much into interior design, because I just got a new place, and I am having fun decorating! I am going with very bright and happy colors to remind me to always stay positive and be cheerful and enjoy the little things in life.

Ries, these pictures of you are AMAZING!! I love modcloth.com I love vintage style and the quality of clothing is great, it’s difficult to find good quality clothing these days. Most of my clothing only lasts through about 1 season before it starts to fall apart. I love the 50′s inspired style bathing suit I purchased about 3 years ago, it still looks as new as the day I got it!

How can I become a modcloth model?? I love how diverse and beautiful the models are just like the clothes. This website is the definition of people come in all shapes and sizes and that all are beautiful.
