CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER
Susan’s all-time favorite things include pugs, eating outdoors, and absurd mushroom-themed housewares. Her current obsessions include nail polish, wedges, and anything high-waisted. Her ultimate style icon is her grandma, and she’s one of the founders of ModCloth.
SENIOR ONLINE EDITOR
Jenn’s first career aspiration was to be a dinosaur. After her kindergarten teacher informed her that couldn’t happen, she decided she would be the next best thing: a writer. Aside from writing, Jenn loves chambray shirts, old libraries, and good typography.
Erin is our resident California girl with a love for everything vintage. She’s the creative force behind Calivintage and she’s joined the ModCloth blog team to share her passion for vintage-inspired style, cycling adventures, and silly hats!
EDITORIAL OUTREACH SPECIALIST
With a passion for events, interviews, and her pet aloe plants, Laura strives to live in a world where writing poetry evokes celebrity status. When she’s not planning her apartment’s next face-lift, she’s either befriending strangers, or admiring maps. She has an MFA in Creative Writing and is an avid appreciator of funky hairstyles and too-hot sauces.
FASHION & BLOG WRITER
Julie bought her first 1950’s frock in the fifth grade. Since then, Julie has become a self-described connoisseur of vintage and thrift shopping, which she shares on her blog, Orchid Grey. When she’s not scouring the racks for the perfect vintage skirt, this native New Englander can be found deftly navigating the slopes of a ski mountain, taking road-trips to the beach, and exploring new places with a vintage camera in her hand.
Since graduating from the “Center for Kids Who Can’t Read Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too,” Julie’s aptness for the written word picked up steam like a runaway train. Her journey thus far has been fueled by an adventurous heart, creative mind, and love of breakfast, baking, and bacon.
Turi likes trying exotic food, exploring new places and, of course, writing. When she’s not writing for ModCloth, she’s working on a novel (aren’t we all?!) and getting her MFA in fiction at the University of Pittsburgh, where she’s an editor of Hot Metal Bridge.
“Q: Where do cantaloupes go for the summer? A: John Cougar Mellon Camp!” From that joke you can surmise a few things about Hannah — she loves a good pun, she delights in irreverence, and red peppers are her vegetable of choice. How does one figure out Hannah loves red peppers from that joke? Hmm, that’s top secret.
Someday, Angela will be tending to her sheep, llamas and alpacas on the “Yarn Farm” and raising award winning honey bees. Until then, the native Pittsburgher is enjoying all things related to knitting, her cats, Mr. Spock, red lipstick, and creativity. Writing is her first true love.
Thrift shopping and cupcake baking are the two main constants within Annie’s life. When she’s not scouring for finds of a lifetime or indulging in calorie-laden confections, Annie enjoys bicycles, dogs, fashion, long stories, and inside jokes.
Every day, Chris gets one to three scoops closer to his dream of an ice cream-only diet. If he’s not indulging his sweet tooth, Chris is using his child-like energy levels to play rubber snake pranks, converse with countless puns, and capture the world in photos as he walks. If you aspire to have a perfect Pittsburgh accent or have a passion for periodicals, he would love to talk over afternoon coffee.
Who would have thought the little girl in the oversized Goofy T-shirt would grow up to become a fashion writer? Definitely not young Sarah; she was too busy daydreaming about becoming a ninja. Sarah has a mean curveball and once tried out for the Olympics. She loves pretty purses, going to baseball games, and will go to extraordinary lengths for chocolate.
Pun intended. Cindy loves dreaming up witty quips and groan-worthy wordplay. In fact, you could say this girl just wants to have puns. As an avid fan of the written word and a librarian at heart, she also loves used bookstores, especially ones that harbor cats. When she’s not reading or writing, she likes exploring historical roadside America, taste-testing classic cocktails, embarking on thrift shopping excursions, and drooling over vintage handbags.
A recent graduate into the “big scary real world,” Nora’s life is mainly comprised of embarrassing situations, great adventures, and meticulous journaling about both. Nora tripped on stage while receiving her college diploma and then promptly moved 3,000 miles away, but somehow her parents still love her. She is music-obsessed and can be expected to pump up the jams and dance like a crazy person every chance she gets.
