The Swedish blogger from En magisk purt til en anan värd is my current obbsession, despite the fact that her whole blog is in Swedish.  Her photos are beautiful, and  love can overcome language barriers, can’t it?  I picked this outfit as my style inspiration on this overcast, chilly Pittsburgh Friday to remind everyone that all you need to brighten even the dreariest day is a bright coat or bright accessories.  I always get compliments when I wear When Life Give You Lemon Coat on dark and rainy days.

The weather is getting brisker, the leaves are changing and it seems to be dark most of the day.  Looks like Fall is finally here!  So, grab your hot cider and warm blanket and snuggle up with this this Fall ModCloth Mixtape.

Free Fall In

I first discoved the blog Daily Fashion Boost about a year ago.  Sam, a Dutch student and only 18, is a pretty amazing blogger with a great sense of style.   I love how she took this blue and white summer polka dot dress in the outfit above and transitioned it into fall with dark tights, dark accessories, and millitary inspired blazer.  I ‘m now inspired to do the same with some of my summer nautical themed pieces by pairing them with items like the Winter Prep Thigh Highs and the Blue Brigade Jacket.

This outfit, from one of my favorite style blogs Idee Geniale, is a totally fabulous fall look.  I love the pop of the bright red skirt in contrast to the neutral browns and blacks in the rest of the ensemble!

Details on how to access and download the maps can be found here. I can’t wait to print this one out and hang it in my bedroom and make some others into note cards!
• Want to take your vintage and bargain shopping to a whole new level ?  The Yard Sale Treasure map website utilizes Google Maps in conjunction with Craigslist to identify yard and estate sales in your area! Goodbye Pennysaver, hello amazing finds!
• And finally in “Putting Our City on the  Map News“ : As you probably know the G20 Summit is taking place here is Pittsburgh today. Things have been pretty intense here in the city the last few days. However, this video of the Flashmob Project’s Message of Peace dance project made us smile.

Colors!

If you are anything like me, you are super exited for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.  Although it is not set for release intil 2010, it inspired my outfit this week.  This ensemble  is what I’d wear to one of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Parties  (should I ever stumble through a looking glass, end up in Wonderland, and get invited to one).  Of course,  if that never happens I’ll have to settle for wearing this fun outfit to a less mad party somewhere in the real world!  In this outfit:  Seraphine Dress, The Bedknobs and Broomsticks Bag, Finishing School Headband in Amethyst,  My So Called Brogues,  and the Pop-lar Pendant.

ModCloth recently introduced the Mascara and The Las Ramblas circle scarves to our accessories collection and they have been a big hit in the ModCloth office and with ModCloth fans alike!  I received my first Las Ramblas Scarf as a gift from the vendor on a recent buying trip, and it was love at first drape!  Perfect for any fashion forward gal, and in my opinion essential for any traveler, my circle scarf has come to be my travel security blanket.  Being an avid fan of the the circle scarf, I thought I’d share with you my top 7 ways to wear this versatile piece!

1. The Loop. This one is pretty self explanatory.

2. The Hooded Cape. Perfect protection from an unexpected rain storm or paparazzi! This look is also great for bad hair days or “bed head” after those long overnight flights.

3.  The Double Wrap. This look gives your circle scarf more of a traditional scarf-feel and is great for cold weather and layered under coats.

4.  The Shawl.  Great for unexpected chilly weather or covering your spaghetti straps when meeting your boyfriends uber-conservative grandmother!

5. The Shrug.  Another look that’s good for chilly nights.

6. The Sash.  Add a little military inspiration to any outfit with this style.  A pin or broach at the near the top of the sash always adds  extra charm to this look.

7. The Travel Companion.  A more avant garde use for the circle scarf . This look  is perfect for chilly waiting areas, train cars or plane seats.  Using the scarf  as a blanket  has helped to keep  me warm and comfortable on many trips!

One of the many reasons I love the UK is that these women can really dress!  This photo is from the British street style blog Hoy Fashion and this British bombshell really knows how to pull a look together!  I love this mix of light pastels in this outfit. They remind me of a deliciously fashionable candy dish!
