<p>It&#8217;s not often we write about men. But in the spirit of the ever-popular end-of-year list, we just had to compile our own quirky and quite extensive (seems we have no problem writing about this particular topic) list of our favorite gentlemen from 2008. <a href="http://blog.modcloth.com/wp-content/plugins/feed-statistics.php?url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5wZW9wbGUuY29tL3Blb3BsZS9hcmNoaXZlL2FydGljbGUvMCwsMjAyNDU1NjAsMDAuaHRtbA==" target=\"_blank\">People Magazine </a>may have dubbed <a href="http://blog.modcloth.com/wp-content/plugins/feed-statistics.php?url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5iYWJibGUuY29tL0NTL2Jsb2dzL2ZhbWVjcmF3bGVyLzIwMDgvMDcvMjMtRW5kL2h1Z2hfamFja21hbi1hdHRhY2suanBn" target=\"_blank\">Hugh Jackman</a> the Sexiest Man Alive, but we&#8217;re partial to our own less-traditional superlatives. So, without further ado, we tip our hats and open our hearts to the 2008 ModMen of the Year!!</p>
<p align="center"><em><strong>Hometown Heroes</strong></em></p>
<p>Don&#8217;t let our size fool you &#8211; Pittsburgh is a hotbed of interesting and talented men. Here is our short list of the local guys that entertain and inspire us.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://www.coachella.com/files/Artists/125/girltalk.jpg" title="Gregg Gillis: A.K.A. Girl Talk" alt="Gregg Gillis: A.K.A. Girl Talk" width="354" height="280" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><em>coachella.com</em></p>
<p><strong>Gregg Gillis</strong>, better known as mashup sensation <strong>Girl Talk,</strong> shows millions of fans that Pittsburgh loves a good dance party. He now sells out venues across the world, but we remember being one of a handful of attendees at his early events at <a href="http://blog.modcloth.com/wp-content/plugins/feed-statistics.php?url=aHR0cDovL2dhcmZpZWxkYXJ0d29ya3MuY29tLw==" target=\"_blank\">Garfield Artworks</a>.</p>

<p style="text-align: center"><em>webblogs.newsday.com</em></p>
<p>Oh <strong>Jeff Goldblum</strong>, what can we say? Your quirky comedic style and dashing smile secure you a place on our top ModMen list. We can’t wait to see you on <em>Law and Order</em>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://assets.espn.go.com/photo/2008/0408/nhl_g_scrosby_580.jpg" title="Sidney Crosby" alt="Sidney Crosby" width="580" height="326" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><em>espn.com</em></p>
<p><strong>Sidney Crosby</strong>. Oh, how do we love thee? Let us count the ways. Lets forget for a moment that he’s being compared to hockey greats like Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky, that he’s the youngest player in NHL history to score 200 points in a season, and let&#8217;s even overlook the scores of trophies and awards he’s accumulated in his career…look at him! The mere mention of his name melts hearts across the office. Please visit us, Sid, we’re only a few minutes away from the Mellon Arena…</p>

You may not be the fastest, but you&#8217;ve certainly won a place in our hearts. Now if we could only do something about the team&#8217;s roster&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/3151684068_f5ab2f1f5d.jpg?v=0" title="Joseph!" alt="Joseph!" width="500" height="354" /></p>
<p>Our wonderful warehouse manager <strong>Joseph</strong> was an obvious choice for our ModMen list. He orchestrates the pulling, packing, and shipping of hundreds of orders per day, keeping ModGirls around the world on trend and stylish. We love you Joseph!</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://media.collegepublisher.com/media/paper906/stills/4355c9e8a52a0-73-1.jpg" title="Terrance Hays" alt="Terrance Hays" width="500" height="345" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><em>www.smith.edu</em></p>
<p><strong>Terrance Hayes</strong>: Since his first collection, <em>Muscular Music,</em> was published in 1999, award-winning poet Terrance Hayes has gained a national reputation for his striking work. Though he was born in South Carolina, Hayes currently resides in Pittsburgh as a professor at Carnegie Mellon University. Lucky us!</p>
<p align="center"><em><strong>Bromances  </strong></em></p>
<p>What could be better than a ModMan? A team of ModMen! Here&#8217;s our picks for 2008&#8217;s best.</p>
<p><strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2008/01/11/flight_of_the_conchords_rock_consumer_electronics_440x300.jpg" title="Flight of the Conchords Men" alt="Flight of the Conchords Men" width="440" height="300" /></p>
<p align="center"><em>pastemagazine.com</em></p>
<p align="left"><strong>Bret and Jemaine </strong><em><strong><br />
</strong></em></p>
<p>There&#8217;s something about a guy with a guitar (or two). This duo from New Zealand are the quintessential lovable losers. Easy on the eyes and ears, we couldn&#8217;t complete the list without Bret and Jemaine.</p>
<p>Honorable Mention: <strong>Mac, Dennis, and Charlie </strong>(Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, and Charlie Day) from <em>It&#8217;s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.</em>
</p>
<p align="center"><em><strong>Infamous Men of Infomercials</strong></em></p>
<p style="text-align: center" align="left">We&#8217;ve spent many a late night debating picking up the phone to order fruits of these ModMen&#8217;s labors.  Their gimmicks and miracle products have earned them their rightful spots in this year&#8217;s list.</p>
<p style="text-align: center" align="left"><img src="http://asklesko.com/images/matthew_lesko.jpg" title="Matthew Lesko" alt="Matthew Lesko" width="244" height="644" /></p>
<p align="left"><strong>Matthew Lesko: </strong>There&#8217;s something about a guy who wants us to cash in. Smart and excitable, Matthew Lesko lets us in on secrets the government doesn&#8217;t want us to know about. And that suit!</p>
<p>Honorable Mention: <strong>Vince from ShamWow </strong></p>
<p align="center"><em><strong>Hot Doc We Wish Was Covered by UPMC  </strong></em></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><a href="http://blog.modcloth.com/wp-content/plugins/feed-statistics.php?url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5jeWZyb3d5cG9sc2F0LnBsL29icmF6a2kvcm96bmUvRHJfSG91c2VfSUlfMDEuanBn" target=\"_blank\"><img src="http://www.cyfrowypolsat.pl/obrazki/rozne/Dr_House_II_01.jpg" title="Dr. House" alt="Dr. House" width="400" height="533" /></a></p>
<p>Who knew learning about medical conditions like <a href="http://blog.modcloth.com/wp-content/plugins/feed-statistics.php?url=aHR0cDovL2hvdXNlLndpa2lhLmNvbS93aWtpL1NhcmNvaWRvc2lz" target=\"_blank\">sarcoidosis</a> could be so sexy? We&#8217;re willing to tolerate <strong>Dr. Gregory House&#8217;</strong>s bad attitude &#8230; in fact, we kind of like it!</p>
<p align="center"><em><strong>Guilty Pleasures</strong></em></p>
<p>OK, so we all have crushes that we might be a little too embarrassed to admit to in mixed company. From one extreme to the other, here are two of our guilty pleasures:</p>
<p><strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://www.modcloth.com/store/images/JTRock.jpg" title="The Rock and Justin Timberlake" alt="The Rock and Justin Timberlake" width="572" height="326" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center"> <strong>Justin Timberlake and Dwayne &#8220;The Rock&#8221; Johnson </strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center">&nbsp;</p>
<p align="center"><em> <strong>Guy Your Mom Would Like</strong></em></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><a href="http://blog.modcloth.com/wp-content/plugins/feed-statistics.php?url=aHR0cDovL2Zhcm00LnN0YXRpYy5mbGlja3IuY29tLzMwNTMvMjM1NDE5NTkxMl84ZmY0NGZlM2IxLmpwZz92PTA=" target=\"_blank\"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3053/2354195912_8ff44fe3b1.jpg?v=0" title="Michael Cera" alt="Michael Cera" width="303" height="320" /></a></p>
<p>We’ve loved <strong>Michael Cera</strong> ever since his first awkward moment on <em><a href="http://blog.modcloth.com/wp-content/plugins/feed-statistics.php?url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5pbWRiLmNvbS90aXRsZS90dDAzNjcyNzkv" target=\"_blank\">Arrested Development.</a></em> What mother (or ModCloth gal) could resist his sweet smile and boy-next-door looks?</p>
<p align="center"><em><strong>Best Guy to Cook You Dinner</strong></em></p>
<p>At ModCloth, we love to eat. We’d like it even better if these hash-slingers were dishing up the grub!</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://www.travelsintaste.com/Images/130_RCSOBCH_300x250_web.jpg" title="Jeff McInnis" alt="Jeff McInnis" width="300" height="250" /></p>
<p align="center"><em>travelinstate.com</em></p>
<p style="text-align: center" align="left"><strong>Jeff McInnis </strong>: Top Chef hottie from Niceville, Florida is a ModCloth favorite. Let’s hope he stays longer then Spike did last season!</p>

<p><strong>Dominic West</strong> : Fighting drug rings in the outskirts of Baltimore is hard. <p style="text-align: center"><strong>Best Guy(s) to Hang Out With at a Party</strong></p>

<p align="center"><em>nytimes.com</em></p>
<p align="left">From pretending to be Ghostbuster Peter Venkman when we were kids to having our hearts broken by his performance in <em>Lost in Translation,</em> we&#8217;ve always been smitten with <strong>Bill Murray&#8217;s</strong> curmudgeonly, but endearingly witty demeanor. And <a href="http://blog.modcloth.com/wp-content/plugins/feed-statistics.php?url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5ueXBvc3QuY29tL3BhZ2VzaXhtYWcvaXNzdWVzLzIwMDgxMjA3L0JpbGwlMjBNdXJyYXklMjBOWUNzJTIwTmV3JTIwUGFydHklMjBCb3k/cGFnZT0x" target=\"_blank\">rumor has it</a>, he&#8217;s been showing up at random house parties in Williamsburg. Well Bill, should you ever stop by Pittsburgh&#8230;</p>
<p align="left">Honorable Mention: <a href="http://blog.modcloth.com/wp-content/plugins/feed-statistics.php?url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5teXNwYWNlLmNvbS90dm90cg==" target=\"_blank\">TV on the Radio </a></p>
<p align="center"><strong>Better With an Accent</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3084/3151702034_8272658efb.jpg?v=0" width="281" height="431" /></p>
<p>Although we love the irresistible <strong>James McAvoy</strong> any way we can get him, we must admit we prefer him with his natural Scottish accent or even British and Irish. Maybe it’s the familiarity, but his American accent in movies like <em>Penelope</em> and <em>Wanted</em> leaves something to be desired. And really, no one looks better in early 19th century costume.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://www.modcloth.com/store/images/Modmen2.jpg" title="Simon Pegg, Noel Fielding, Steve Coogan, and Ricky Gervais" alt="Simon Pegg, Noel Fielding, Steve Coogan, and Ricky Gervais" width="600" height="260" /></p>

<p align="center"><em>www.ew.com</em></p>
<p><strong>John Krasinski</strong>: This tall funny man is a ModCloth favorite for keeps. He shines best on the small screen as Jim Halpert, the adorable and romantic trickster that any girl would be proud to introduce to mom and dad. Three cheers for Big Tuna!</p>
