Greetings ModLovers, and welcome to this week’s edition of Style Glossary! I took this opportunity to talk a little bit more about my new favorite shirt – The Dove Tail Blouse! Now, besides being simple with a retro flare, not to mention easy-to- match with everything, this sweet little number features this week’s term – bishop sleeves!
A bishop sleeve is characterized by a full sleeve, set into a standard-sized arm hole, and gathered into a banded cuff at the wrist. The look was first made popular in the 1850’s (talk about vintage!), and can also be called a “full bishop”. I love the vintage-inspired-secretary feeling it gives to almost any skirt.
What are your new fall favorites? Let me know! Thanks for reading, and as always, happy shopping!

Wow! This shirt is quite reminiscent of the shirt worn by Audrey Hepburn in ‘Roman Holiday.’ Not only does this style look good as it is, but she showed us it looks completely adorable with the sleeves rolled up, too!
Two enthusiastic thumbs up for versatility 🙂
This shirt is completly adorable.
I am dying to have this shirt (darn bank account!)–love the bishop sleeves, especially with the elegant tie-neck and EXTRA especially because of the classic white. Shirts like this can be hard to find, but it’s worth it to have at least one in your closet because it will make you look instantly put together (just add skirt or jeans and throw your hair back).
