Cozy Up with Capes This Fall

Clockwise from the top left: Crystal of 11:11, Frida of Fyndigt, Sarah Lauren, and Coury of Fancy Treehouse.

Capes come in all shapes and sizes, from a comfy knit poncho to a sophisticated, vintage-inspired twill topper. As fall swings into full force, bloggers have been seen sporting this great transitional piece all over the blogosphere. Try belting it to show your shape or pair with a wide-brimmed hat for the bohemian babe vibe. Whatever your style, you’ll want to jump on the cape caravan. Here are some ModCloth pieces that will help you es-cape from the autumn chill:

From the left: Manta Ray Sweater, Retro Revival Cape, and the Taupe Couture Cape.

Are you for or against capes? If you’re for them, what type of cape style do you like best?

About Turi

When Turi isn’t blogging, you can find her nose behind a book. But reading isn’t her only pastime. She loves running (cue jogging stroller), taste-testing pizza and burgers, and working on the next great American novel. Her latest homage to all things literary? Her son is named after writer Dashiell Hammett. How apropos.

I really like the way Frida styled her leopard print cape. That makes it seem more like a cardigan. It’s giving me ideas!

Usually I think of Dracula when capes are mentioned. These ones are totally adorable and most don’t even look like capes. I’m still on the fence but adore the Mantra Ray.

I’ve always been in love with capes and cloaks…I prefer mine to be dark and thick…so I can use them as they’re meant to be used…to keep warm! Unfortunately it’s hard to find them anymore but I’m glad ModCloth is bringing them back!

    I love capes….Ponchos too…but I know, I know they’re out… I want them to come back. They’re warm and they hide everything! 🙂
