What We’re Into:
Molly – This week, I’ve been digging Amy Poehler’s online series ‘Smart Girls At The Party.’ Poehler claims that the show “celebrates extraordinary individuals who are changing the world by being themselves,” and her talented and adorable guests prove it. The first guest of this 8-episode series is Cameron, a 10-year-old writer who likes scary ghost stories. Poehler, along with her producer Meredith Walker and musician Amy Miles, discuss the trials and tribulations Cameron faces in her writing process. It’s sweet and funny, but never trite -Poehler talks to Cameron, and seriously considers her answers. ‘Smart Girls At The Party’ creates a positive, supportive environment where young girls can confidently express themselves. It makes my feminist heart swell to see these young ladies so happy and full of self-respect, getting excited about the things the love – be it dancing, gardening, or rocking out.
Lindsay – Kramers Ergot 7 – This dreamy super-sized comic hardcover is my current love. I bought it for my boyfriend for Christmas, but I’ve been hoarding it ever since.
Crystal – A Journalistic Change Of Pace: I love the premise of this site. Each day, they exclusively post inspiring good news stories with headlines like, ‘Orangutan Catches Rope From Humans To Save Her Baby’ and ‘Salvation Army Records Record-Setting Kettle Donations,’ and other things that you probably won’t hear on CNN.
