A Pink Vintage-Meets-Modern Look

A fresh take on vintage vibes? Yes, please! This lovely makeup tutorial incorporates striking pinks and subtle purples, as well as a retro cat eye and lots of highlighter. It’s a look you can wear both day and night, to casual events or formal shindigs.

What You Need:

Step One

After applying your base, use an eyeshadow brush to apply a wash of shimmery grey-taupe shadow across your entire lid and up to the socket line. Blend this out with a pink eyeshadow (this palette has some great options that will work for many skin tones). You can also apply a bit of shimmer to your interior corners for a brightening effect. For brows, I kept things very light and natural.

Step Two

Next up: cat eye. I used a glossy black liquid eyeliner to draw my wings, then followed up with three coats of mascara on both my top and bottom lashes. The cat eye is one of the primary aspects of this look and nods to times gone by.

Step Three

Highlighter and blusher really give this look a sense of freshness. For an unexpected twist, I liberally dusted a pale purple blush on my upper cheekbones. Purple creates a “lit from within” effect, and is ultra feminine.

The Finishing Touch

Apply a generous coat of bright pink lipstick, and voila! Instant glamour.
