  • Looking for a mindless addiction, other than reality TV and Facebook? Spend a few minutes clicking black boxes to red boxes and red boxes to black boxes and black boxes to red…
  • My hippo in that rousing game of Hungry Hungry Hippos was quite the pamphagous! What am I talking about? Find out at Save the Words–a website run by Oxford Dictionaries which features a giant collage of unused and forgotten words that have lost their place in the dictionary. Find out the meaning of other strange words, like snollygoster or jobler. You can even buy a custom t-shirt with your favorite abandoned word. P.S. Pamphagous– eating or swallowing everything

  • Susan found this video of 7-year-old piano prodigy, Emily Bear. She’s been on the Ellen Show for her composing skills and has written 126 songs! So inspiring!

What We’re Into:

Sari: Brian Eno Song Collaborations-There is no arguing that Brian Eno is a brilliant musicians, but for me it’s his collaborations with artists like David Byrne for the song Strange Overtones or Big Day with Phil Manzanera that I can’t get enough of!

Maggie: This week, I have been obsessed with the Egyptian Discovery trip offered by GAP Adventures (which I found through Lonely Planet). I have been trying to book a trip abroad for some time in the next year or so, and I really like this one. Seriously–how amazing would it be to see the sunrise on Mt. Sinai? Unfortunately, I can’t find anyone willing to go with me!

Alicia: Birthday Freebies! My birthday is coming up and I decided that this year, I would do my research and sign up for every possible restaurant newsletter, in the hopes that I would eat totally free the week of my birthday. That’s definitely not going to happen, but I already got a free burrito at Moe’s, a free entree AND spumoni sundae from the Spaghetti Warehouse and I’m waiting to claim my Red Robin Burger and Coldstone Creamery Creation this weekend. Although I wouldn’t normally eat like this for an extended period of time, it seems wrong NOT to eat as much free food as I possibly can in the following week.  Here are some websites I used to do my research, although I recommend setting up a completely separate email account for this, because you will get A LOT of emails, and they won’t be quite as welcome in your inbox after the birthday coupon bonanza is over.
