New season, new you! In the spirit of spring and refreshing your look, today I’m highlighting five bold beauty trends I just can’t wait to experiment with. What better time to add a pop of pigment to your lips, or a few flowers to your hair? A little nervous to try them out? Don’t worry — I’ve provided tips for beauty newbies and experts, alike. Check ’em out below, and be sure to share your favorite beauty trends in the comments.

Bright & Bold Eyeliner: This spring, daring colors aren’t just limited to your lips and nails. Try your hand at a subtle blue or green on your waterline or go bold with a pop of yellow or fuchsia pigment on your lids. Step up your weekend look by matching your eye makeup with your handbag or favorite footwear.

Satiny Orange Lips: It’s no surprise that with longer days and warm weather (finally) resurfacing, this tangerine hue is also making an appearance. Orange hues are compatible with nearly every complexion, and the variety of saturations available make it accessible to the makeup novice or experimental expert.

All Kinds of Crowns: From floral wreaths to braided bundles, crowns — in all their forms — are experiencing a major moment. Top off loose waves with your favorite flower for a weekend brunch, or hide a bad hair day by twisting your tresses into plaits and pinning them to the top of your head. Or take a note from Kirsten Dunst (far right), and do both!

Understated Neutral Nails: To balance bold eye color and bright lip stains, this season is all about keeping your manis simple. From pearly whites to matte tans, this trend has low upkeep and coordinates with any ensemble. And the best part? These subdued colors keep chips and smudges discrete!

Messy, Midi Hair: Lazy ladies rejoice! Unkempt, slightly overgrown bobs are totally ‘in’ this spring. Bedhead meets top-down convertible, the more texture the better. Trade in the brush for a little volume-boosting mousse, rub it into your roots and the look is all yours!

A little chuckle here when I viewed the photo of Kirsten Dunst with her flower headband. I have one similar to hers that I purchased at Ross. I love the flower crowns and hope they are here to stay for a very long time!
