ModCloth Has Two New BFFS!

We are proud to announce that ModCloth’s new BFFs are Kristen Maxam and Ashley Collier. Congratulations to our two winners, who have each received $50 gift certificates.

We really enjoyed reading all of the poems on our Facebook Wall, and because our BFF winners were randomly selected from the wall posts, we want to showcase some of our favorite poems and their talented authors. Here they are!

Miranda Loeber

My love limerick

There once was a lady named Suzy,
Who with vintage fashion was choosy,
She had so many clothes,
“My closet grows and grows!”,
She quickly began to feel woozy.,
So she made her own fancy website,
And fashionistas rejoiced in delight,
We shop for cloth mod,
And cheer and applaud,
For Susan Koger has made our lives bright!

Keep reading for more amazing ModCloth poems!

Katharine Heller

From dresses to stocking and shoe
ModCloth gems I like to accrue
But two things in supply
That sadly I cannot buy
Are your mascots, Winston and Blue

Magda Stephanie Mondaca

There once was a lad,
who never wanted to see me sad.

He traveled far and wide
and brought me a surprise he wanted to hide.

I kept asking,”What is it!?”
Seeing that all the candles were being lit.

He only smiled and kept going.
I stubbornly said,”It’s Valentine’s Day, stop ignoring.”

He then opened a box full of clothes with a nod
and shouted,”Thank me my love. Finally you can wear Mod!”

While shopping online, you can have piece of mind
knowing that will have something one of a kind,
that Sam Baker Dress (that’s fully lined),
those plum brandy pumps (that for so long you’ve pined),
the fundamental skinny jeans (that look great on your behind),
or debutant ball gloves (so classy and refined),
for days at the office when you’re on the grind,
or nights on the town, being wined and dined,
morning, noon, or night, you’re sure to find
vintage style redefined.

Lena Goldstein Levenson

Oh Modcloth how do I love thee? Let me count the ways,
One, how you keep me looking snazzy in your stylish wares
Two, the way your awesome tights cover my legs so they’re never bare
Three, the hottness that is my Holloway dress cuz it fits just right
Four, your sunglasses are so cute I want to wear them at night
Five, Your blog keeps me hip to the lastest fashion trends
Six, Dani’s photo school helps me feel comfy behind the lense
Seven, my kitty has a crush on Winston in a major way,
Eight, Modcloth, I could go on and on, but we’d be here all day!

Thanks again to everyone who left us a love poem. There will be more chances to win very soon!

These aren’t love poems. They are praise poems, there is a difference. And one of them totally rips off Elizabeth Barret Browning, not cool in the literary world.

My poem!!!! Ahhhh I’m so excited that it was favored! 😀

The poet– don’t be bitter. Haven’t you ever heard the saying if you don’t have something nice to say, then don’t say anything at all? Lena’s poem is not a “rip off” of Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s, it has a one line similarity. I think it’s cute that she took a classic poem and turned it into a poem about Modcloth.

    “The poet”:

Many of us at ModCloth are actually quite “well-versed” (ha ha) in the field of poetry, and are quite proud of all of the entries that our fans posted. Given the audience and context of the BFF contest (which is quite different than that of a literary journal, or even a blog geared specifically towards poets), we think everyone did a great job!
