We can hardly explain how much ‘pun’ it’s been to monitor your submissions for our Retro Recast Contest on Twitter! Thankfully, on the blog we’re not confined to 140 characters, so we’re going to take our good ol’ time and list-out all three entrants who scored a $50 gift certificate for their clever wordplay creations.

The #retrorecast winners are:

Zsa Zsa GaBourne Identity, tweeted by @alexandersonn, a combination of “Zsa Zsa Gabor” and “Bourne Identity.”

Men Who FredAstaire at Goats by @innerfemale, the clever pairing of “Men Who Stare at Goats” and “Fred Astaire.”

The Importance of Being Ernest Borgnine, by @tatertotliz, a mash-up of “The Importance of Being Ernest” and “Ernest Borgnine.”

Which ‘pun’ is your fave? Do you have any suggestions for the theme of a possible future wordplay-themed contest?

Totally fun game. Next time it should be whoever gets the post in first. Copy cats shouldn’t be rewarded and entrants should be encouraged to search the timeline before they enter. Just sayin’.

    Hi Kristen!
We collected all of our entries and if any of our winning tweets were duplicates, we checked to see who tweeted it first. In this case the first Men Who FredAstaire at Goats was tweeted at 13:07:15 and yours was tweeted at 18:05:24. We definitely always try to make sure the first tweet gets credit.
