We’re making kind of a big deal about denim right now and for good reason. It’s the ultimate versatile style that never goes out of fashion! Oh, and that justifying phrase you’ve used to defend dozens of purchases—”It can be dressed up or dressed down”? Yeah, denim’s all like, it me.
Poke around our site a bit (our denim shop and beyond) and you’ll find photos of our incredible ModCloth employees rocking a mixture of jeans from our exclusive collaboration with Wrangler and some of our other favorite brands, like Rolla’s and Judy Blue. We stopped a few of these ladies in the hall to see what stands out to them about the bottoms they modeled—and jeans in general.

The most popular pro? Jeans that offer that just-right amount of stretch. But, stretch-boasting denim doesn’t end with wowing on the first wear. As Assistant Designer Angelina (pictured above, in the middle) pointed out, her perfect jeans “make you feel great when you put them on and have great stretch recovery.” Now that’s a girl who knows her stuff.

In the photo above is Sa, one of our stellar Product Development Specialists. Here’s what she had to say about the ModCloth-Wrangler collab pair she totally owned: “They had just enough stretch to hug my curves, but also felt like a true quality denim jean! I also normally wear skinny jeans, but I felt confident and loved the look of the straight leg.” Hello, perfection! Cheers to Sa for trying a new style and totally killin’ it in the process.

Okay, ladies, time to get real. What even are jeans without a good fit in the back? Alex, Senior Order Management Specialist (on the right in the photo above), hits us with the truth with her fit must-have: “Honestly the first thing I look for in a pair of denim is if it is going to be flattering on my bum or not. If my butt doesn’t look good to me, it’s a no go.” You heard it here first!
As for outfitting? These gals have some great ideas. According to Production Associate Brittney, tossing those chic-in-the-booty bottoms on with flats or sandals and cute top or cardi is the way to go. Ask Senior Product Development Specialist Erica and she’ll tell you to outfit those jeans however the heck you want! They are the world’s most multifaceted ensemble element, after all.
