Holiday Sneak Peek, Part IV: A Drawn Out Journey

So far in our holiday stylebook series, gifts take reign. But wait! In the next few weeks, we’ll unveil an enchanting world of glamour and delight! Read on to learn a little about the creative process surrounding these behind-the-scenes sketches from our shoot.

For Fantastical Voyage, we wanted to evoke a sense of peregrination. Our goal was to produce amazing scenes in which a glamorously clad gal, and her friend Winston, stroll through a wintery wonderland.

My writing process for this project differed a bit from our last stylebook. For this holiday, we wanted the models to engage with the set and props in order to make each image unique. So, when creating a story, I had to ask myself things like, “What would I do in a fantasy iceberg land?” and “How would I efficiently travel in the snow?” Letting my imagination take over, I drew out the scenes here.

Most of these scenes look very different from the final product, but some actually shine through in a much more brilliant way than I would have ever imagined. I can’t wait for you all to see it, so check back next week for Part II of Fantastical Voyage!

Do you have any suggestions as to how I might be able to get into the photoshoot design/visual merchandising career path? (courses to take, etc)
