$1000 ModCloth Winner Can Has Interview!

Winston along with the ModStaff would like to extend a big congrats to Arielle for scoring the $1000 Gift Certificate from our I Can Has Cheezburger Twitter contest!

On September 18th, we held a contest to commemorate National Cheeseburger Day! While 50 Twitter users were randomly chosen each hour to receive a goody filled prize pack, one winner was chosen at random who had to correctly complete all four rounds of the Cheezeburger contest to be entered for a chance to win our largest prize to date, a $1000 ModCloth gift certificate! With this being our biggest giveaway ever, we were curious, and just had to know more about the ModTweeter who struck it big!

Q: What part of the earth are you from?

A: I live in Santa Cruz, CA. since I go to school at UC Santa Cruz.

Q: Could you tell us a little about what you are currently doing, or a few words to describe yourself?

A: I’m 20 and a Junior, double majoring in History of Art and European History.  It’s my dream to work in a museum or gallery.  I’m working right now on study abroad plans, hoping to spend some time in Germany and Austria. I’m a wannabe artist and am addicted to clothing. Dresses and tights are pretty much my life.

Q: When did you first hear about and start shopping ModCloth?

A: It was about a year ago. I’d become completely obsessed with dresses and was searching for a store that matched my style.  I hit the jackpot when I found ModCloth–so many adorable dresses with the vintage feel that I love!

Want to see how Arielle plans on spending her ModMoney, and what her initial reaction was when she found out she had won? Keep reading!

Q: How did you find out about the “I Can Has Cheezburger” Contest?

A: I have an account on ModCloth, so I got the email, and I had seen some of the blog posts about it.  On the day of the contest I was packing to move back to school, which can be pretty monotonous, so the hourly tweeted clues were a fun distraction.

Q: What did you think of the contest, and do you have any personal feedback?

A: I thought it was a great idea!  I think the ModCloth contests help make you feel a little more connected and involved in the site.  When I’m browsing through all the clothes I sorta feel like I’m part of a fabulous group of ModCloth shoppers.  Now that sounds cheesy, but it’s true, and I think that it’s partly because of the contests along with the ModLife Blog, Facebook, Myspace and Twitter pages.

Q: How did you feel and what was your initial reaction when you realized you won?

A: I was SO surprised!  I had to have my roommate look at the tweet because I didn’t trust what I was seeing, I thought maybe I was imagining that it said @VintageArielle HA! It never even crossed my mind that I might actually win. The only thing I’ve ever won was a huge ceramic rabbit in an elementary school raffle. I can honestly say this is much more exciting.  My roommates and I actually danced around the apartment in celebration. Yeah, we’re pretty huge dorks.

Q: How do you plan on spending your ModMoney? In one fell swoop, or a little here a little there, purchasing gifts, etc.?

A: I’m going to try and spread the money out and not spend it all in one go, which is actually proving to be more difficult than I expected because I keep finding more and more cute outfits.  I’ll definitely be buying my sister clothes. She’s been sending me these emails that are a link to a jacket or dress with the heading “This is cute” or “Love it”…….she’s really not very subtle.

Q: Do you have a ModFavorite item right now?

A: Now that is a hard question!  I have quite a few favorites but if I had to narrow it down… I have been staring at the Anna Von Diederitz Coat for some time now.  Oh, the Parker Dress is great too. So is the Vanna Grey Dress, and the Baccarat Heels.  I really could go on and on and on…

Maybe you could be the next ModWinner of one of our many contests. Be sure to keep an eye on our ModLife Blog,  join our mailing list or friend us on Facebook, MySpace or Twitter to stay in the know and receive exclusives about upcoming opportunities to win big!

Congrats, Arielle! I visited Santa Cruz once, and it quickly became one of my most favorite places on Earth! Granted, part of the appeal was the fact that it’s where “Lost Boys” was filmed. But, regardless, it’s a beautiful place that I hope to visit again someday.

I am the exact same person! i was going to be an art major, but the school i go to doesnt offer art majors or minors, so i am a history major (European history is my favorite), and i want to work in a museum or gallery, and i love clothes and will go study abroad in Austria. weird.
