A few months ago the ModCloth buyers had the wonderful opportunity to go Berlin for the Bread and Butter Tradeshow and we found a lot of great European and Asian brands to bring back to ModCloth while we where there. Two of my personal favorite brands were Sugarhill Boutique and Motel,  both of of which hail from the United Kingdom.

I have always had a deep affection for the UK and British style, however  it wasn’t until I was in London last year that this affection turned in to a full-fledged love affair.   I distinctly remember when it first really hit me.  I went so see the band The Wave Pictures (now a favorite of mine)  my first night in London and I was blown away by how stylish everyone there was.  Flirty A-line dresses, pretty prints, bright opaque tights and cute hair accessories (all put together in a fun and creative way)  all stood out to me as  key elements of  British style.

With great party dresses and pretty fabrics, Sugarhill Boutique, based in Brighton, really showcases the flirty side of British style, while Motel, with its sleek silloutes and fun prints shows off the funkier side of UK fashion.  Be sure to check out all the great Sugarhill Boutique and Motel items with Modcloth’s Shop by Brand feature!

Aw, I love Brighton, they have the best little independent stores down there… Can’t wait to go there this break, if anyone will brave the cold seaside with me, haha.

And that romper is amazing! I don’t even like rompers but that was an instant love!

I love that Sugarhill Boutique joins the ranks of designers like BB Dakota who make legitimately XS clothes. Yay!

    Hello there,

I was exactly the same with me and the British fashion. First time in GB I was absolutely astonished by the way all the girls look so great and stylish when they are on their nightouts! Totally love it! xx
