Say 'Hello' to Our New Blog

Welcome to the New ModCloth Blog

Story by ModCloth announcement We can’t believe we’re finally saying this, but… Hi! Welcome to a wholly reimagined ModCloth blog. From a new name to a new look, we’ve completely redefined the experience of the ModCloth lifestyle, and we couldn’t be more excited. This is the blog as you’ve never seen it before.

What’s in a Name?

Over the years, we’ve watched ModCloth and our community grow in fantastic ways. This blog started as an informal way for our team to share and document our start as a fashion-tech company, and has since evolved into a full-fledged editorial platform with a dedicated staff. No matter what our size, though, one thing remains true: our commitment to telling the story of ModCloth and our amazing community.

At ModCloth, we believe that fashion is full of stories. There are the stories of our designers, be they Fashion Week vets or Make the Cut winners, and there are the stories they weave into their designs. There are the narrative-driven product descriptions we give all our garments, and the stories we are given with all our vintage pieces. Vintage clothes carry their own histories and stories. And, there are the stories you tell us every day, be it through outfit uploads to the Style Gallery, lit submissions to The Written Wardrobe, or through social media and your own blogs. When it came time to redress our blog, it felt right to slip on this new name.

So, welcome to Story by ModCloth.

ModCloth's blog redesign team Up top, our wicked smart redesign team of developers, designers, and producers. Below, the sketches, moodboards, and moments that led to today.

You can already shop ModCloth on-the-go, and we wanted to give you the same untethered access to the ModCloth lifestyle. Our new, responsive blog is beautifully designed for every device, so that your favorite features are always at your fingertips.

Crafting a site using responsive design means we coded this up so the layout adapts to all screen sizes, mobile, tablet, or desktop. Want to see how it works? Open our blog up on another device. Or, if you’re on a computer, drag the corner of your browser window to reduce its size, and see what happens. Keep an eye on our top nav, especially once you scale your window to its smallest size! It’s pretty magical.

News Ways to Discover

What you want, baby we’ve got it. Beyond creating a better browsing experience with our new layout, we’ve introduced a featured stories slider and will soon be introducing dynamic sidebars. Soon, you’ll be able to venture through categories and watch the sidebar update with recommended posts to read next, or relevant shopping categories based on what you’re reading.

We have big plans for Story this year – big, big plans. This is just version 1, and we’ll continue to iterate, improve, and introduce new stories and site features that we hope will inspire and delight. Let us know what you think about our new look, or if you notice any pesky bugs we need to fix. For our team, the work (and fun) has just begun.

We can’t wait to hear your thoughts, and thank you for being the best community ever. We couldn’t have done any of this without you.

This is looking great! Congrats on the redesign:) I’m glad to see “Best Job Ever” remains a feature in the crush-worthy section, since that was what got me to subscribe to your feed in the first place. Looking very much forward to what’s to come!

I don’t like the new blog- too many links to click.
