Introducing Myrtlewood and Bea & Dot

Growing up, our founder Susan Gregg Koger never had the desire to look like anyone else. With roots steeped in vintage and a desire to make our community members feel like the best versions of themselves, we’re excited to debut our very first private label brands, Bea & Dot and Myrtlewood!

Featuring an array of playful prints, feminine silhouettes, and classic cuts, our private label brands were conceived with the best of vintage in mind — many of the items were even inspired by Susan’s very own wardrobe favorites! Bea & Dot, named for Susan’s grandmothers, will make you stand out in a crowd with its unique prints and flirty embellishments, and Myrtlewood boasts retro details that evoke classic feminine style.

Oftentimes, people think we produce everything on the site — that’s not actually true. We carry thousands of independent designers, and while that allows us to bring you the best designs out there in the indie marketplace, it also poses a big challenge when it comes to sizing, as every designer has a different definition of what a small or extra large should be. When you buy a piece designed by ModCloth, we want you to feel confident that the sizing will be consistent. This was one of the big factors we considered when decided to produce our own brands.

Additionally, for as long as we’ve been sourcing unique items, we’ve struggled to find clothing that you’ll love in a full size range. That’s why we’re excited to offer most of our private label items in a full ranges of sizes, from XS to 4X.

We’re working each and every day to ensure that we’re bringing you the best quality fashions — but we’re just getting started! It’s your contributions to our Style Gallery, product reviews, and Be the Buyer that helps us grow our product selection with items that excite you. Keep telling us what you’d like to see on the site, and we’ll keep working hard to make it happen. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy checking out these ModCloth exclusive pieces!

What are you most excited about from our new brands?

I love how the description page for these items includes photos on a straight and plus sized mannequins. I’m a plus sized customer, and seeing the difference is very helpful. Thank you so much for expanding your plus sized line!
