After almost three years of modeling with ModCloth, college grad Anna knows how to strike a pose. But, as this 22-year-old proves, beauty goes beyond what shows up on camera. Learn where this fashionable femme gets inspiration, what vintage-fueled projects fill her spare time, and how an unexpected modeling gig helped her find confidence on camera and off!
What’s the best part of being a ModCloth model?
Growing up, I never considered myself to be classically “beautiful.” I struggled with finding confidence in myself for a long time. When I was asked by a friend working for ModCloth if I would like to try modeling, I was surprised that they wanted me! But, after working with such a great team and getting a lot of support from them, I realized that beauty doesn’t necessarily have a standard and that sometimes people can see something inside of you that you may have never found on your own.
Who are your role models, either in style or in life?
Each member [of my family] is individual and strong in their own way, and I try to absorb all of the wonderful energy they put into the world. They taught me the importance of being humble and how important personal relationships are.
What’s your biggest dream or aspiration?
I dream of working as a stylist on a movie or television show. Since I graduated in May, I have been working as an assistant stylist on various jobs, gaining experience. Dream job? Styling the show Pretty Little Liars. (Oops, I just confessed my biggest guilty pleasure!)
How do you express your creativity?
Lately, I’ve been refinishing old, funky furniture I pick up at yard sales or thrift stores. I’m a total thrift junkie. Also, I really love to sing. It’s a secret passion of mine; I’m always singing real songs, or silly songs I make up. A friend and I have been talking about making music together… Is the world ready for it? Up for debate.
