Secret Gardenia: Lush & Lavish Inspiration

Images of mossy groves, treasure troves, and natural beauty make up ModCloth photographer Kristin and stylist Annie’s inspiration board for “Everyday Exotic.”

Whenever I stumble across a photo shoot I enjoy, my curiosity wonders what served as its creators’ inspiration. Luckily for me, our photographer and creative stylist were kind enough to give us a behind-the-scenes peek at their mood board for our summer stylebook, “Everyday Exotic.” Enraptured by lush greens, succulents, seasonal sun, and playful bursts of color hidden within their set at San Francisco’s Flora Grubb Gardens, our creative team dove in with a generous dose of imagination and a whole lot of ‘haute’ summer styles.

What things have been inspiring your summer outfits?

Love this mood board! The pretty lilacs and soft-focused photographs are simply lovely. Right now, I’m inspired by everything dainty.

This board is lovely! I love the colors and floral crown photos on it.

Hmm…I’m really inspired by simple, easy summer styles lately. I usually do everything up as much as possible in my outfits, so when I see people applying the “less is more” principle, I find that really inspiring to try and apply to my wardrobe choices.
