The Style Gallery is a great new way for you to view, love, and share outfit photos. It’s meant to showcase all the expressive, creative, and inspirational personalities of our community!
In addition to wishlists chock full of most-loved items, many ModCloth fans keep a mental list of their fave product names too! The puns and fun are contagious, so you may find yourself thinking, “I’d love to come up with the the perf name for this pretty piece!” Well, with the return of our famous Name It & Win It Contest, you can do just that!
Go ahead and start brainstorming because we’ve hand-picked four fab items for your wit and wordplay. Each day from tomorrow through 12/6, we’ll share one of these products on a different social platform at 9 a.m. PT. You can participate via our blog on 12/3, our Facebook page on 12/4, our YouTube channel on 12/5, and our Instagram feed on 12/6. Check back here daily for links to each platform, where we’ll post an image of the item up for naming!
Once you glimpse the day’s featured product on its host platform, you may enter up to three names for it by 9 p.m. PT via a comment to the image post. ModCloth teams hosting each platform will consider the creativity, originality, and brand-appropriateness of all entries, then choose one daily winner to receive the item they victoriously named! We’ll officially announce each champ on 12/13 via the blog.

how about the Gilded Age for dress one?
I’m a Canadian that has a US shipping address. Is the contest only open to Americans for the purpose of shipping the item or are there other legalities? Would I be able to enter?
For questions: NIAWI@modcloth.com (See dot #5 under “Deets”) Here’s to hoping you can, Suzanne!
For some reason the e-mail address isn’t working for me, though. :S I keep getting a postmaster returned reply.
I’m still so confused as to where I’m supposed to leave my name ideas
There’s a blog post with a picture of the dress, you just comment on that post.
Hit the Spot dress
Not sure if this is the place to post my name suggestion for the black & gold dress from day 1, but my name suggestion is Goldi Rocks (a play on Goldilocks, ie: the golden tint, and the fact that the black gives it a rocker edge). 🙂
Good luck all!
“banging metal” “metal meltdown” and “meet-al with me”
I have a similar question! I’m a U.S. citizen living overseas, but I have a permanent address in the U.S. as well. Does that mean I can still enter? And if by lucky chance I did win something… Does that mean I would need to have the item shipped to the U.S. address? Or like the user above posted, is the U.S. citizenship requirement just for legalities?
Day 1 | Name It & Win It
(Or some variation of: ex, Argo Naughty Listed, On The Argo Naughty List)
Going with a holiday theme here since this gold number would be perfect for a holiday party with friends!
1) Jingle Belle Rock Dress
2) Blitzen Vixen Dress
What a fun game. Sadly this was not very well thought out for all of your plus size customers. Not one of the dresses in this name-game are offered in plus-size. So the prize is not applicable to a large segment of your customers. Did I miss something?
Anyone could win an item they would not or could not wear but could gift to someone and share the thrill of winning!!!
Fourth Day is flats!
I agree. Given how many reviews I see from people who bought dresses in plus sizes, it seems to that there are a great number of customers who wear plus sizes yet some of the contest dresses are only available in S/M/L.
I don’t think saying you can give it to a friend fixes it at all. Neither does having one day be shoes.
I hope you modcloth comes up with a prize that works for everyone – e.g. the choice between that dress or a mod cloth gift certificate or coupon.. It’s a bit late to change the dresses but you could at least make an effort to be more inclusive.
Oops! Not! See Deet #9. 🙁
Only U.S. Rules rule.
Yeah, I live in Australia and too would like to know if I am still eligible to enter? (:
Ooh, nevermind. My tired eyes finally found my answer!
I have a suggestion for the day 2 dress… Grape Expectations.
Day 2 ideas need to be posted on Facebook after 9 a.m. tomorrow.

Hello. My first entry for the contest is ‘So Billy Jean-Ahh!’. I chose this name because I was thinking about the detailing of the dress; from the mesh inserts, the metallic sheen, and the faux leather trim making strong angles on the bodice of the dress. All of these clever style choices are reminiscent of the leather jackets and vests that Michael Jackson wore…hence the ‘Billy Jean’. The ‘Ahh!’ part comes from the fact that all of these details are creatively designed into a gorgeous, captivating lace frock to wear out on the town.
My second entry is a long the same lines. It is ‘Thrill Her Night’, based on M. Jackson’s song with a cute play on words.
My third entry is still appreciating all of those gorgeous, unexpected details and this time in a new way. I thought of the Opulent James Bond movies, fierce Bond girls and the title ‘GoldenEye’. I thought it would be fun to do a play on that and maybe call it ‘Goldeneye On You’.
