Fall Outfit Ideas Inspired by Fairytales

Fairytale-Inspired Fall Outfit Ideas

Once upon a time, there was a season called “fall” — a delightful period where cozy layers and chic statement makers lived together in happy outfit harmony. Some might say these lovely combinations are the stuff of dreams, but we’re here to prove that such enchanting style is easy to achieve! Looking to some of our favorite storybooks, our Styling Manager Rachel created three fall outfits inspired by fairytale characters. Write some of these ideas into your fall style story, and your closet will live happily ever after!

Red Riding Hood

Nods to nature give this look an adventurous feel — the leaf necklace, fox tote, and even the wood soles of the black clogs lend an outdoorsy air to the more refined fit-and-flare dress. Our “riding hood” might not be as crimson as the original, but we think Little Red would still thrill over this burgundy jacket. Fill your tote with a baguette, preserves, and your favorite cheese, then head out to Nana’s for a laughter-filled tea — no wolves allowed.

Decisions, decisions. Will today’s look be playfully pretty or perfectly polished? Will y0u dress for a chilly fall day or that unexpected hour of sunny bliss that so often accompanies an autumn afternoon? When it comes to versatile style, this look gets things juuust so. Build your look around a classic fit-and-flare in a gorgeous hue (we picked gold, not only for our flaxen-haired muse, but because of the way it so perfectly mirrors fall’s changing leaves), and you’ll be set for work or play. A scarf and chambray shirt, used here as a cardi, are great for when the weather is too cold. Too hot? Pop your outfit toppers into a bag featuring an unexpected, eye-catching pattern — a fun piece that adds interest to your ensemble without going overboard. One thing’s for sure — when paying homage to this storybook star, these teddy bear flats are just right!

Fairy Godmother

Fairytale Inspired Fashion for Fall

Don’t tell this style muse, but it’s easy to add a bit of enchantment to your fall ensembles — no magic required. All you’ll need are a few shamelessly princess-y pieces, such as this tulle skirt, these sparkly shoes, metallic accessories, and lush finishers. The volume and dreamy quality of this pink skirt can help even the most everyday separates transform into special occasion standouts. And toss glitter into the mix? Abra-cadabra, al-aka-GLAM!

While not a classic fairy tale, MGMs depiction of the Good Witch of the North! And my dear Snow White of course. Baba Yaga on bad days, haha!
