New York Fashion Week S/S ’12 By Print

The shoes, the makeup, the music, and about a million other things make New York Fashion Week awesome. But to me, the most awesome part is catching a glimpse of the newest patterns and prints – whether they’re by a major label or a majorly cool indie designer. From the nostalgic-hues seen at Gretchen Jones to the flat-out pretty florals at Porter Grey, these new textiles already have me thinking twice about how I can play with the current prints in my closet, and what I should add!

Which print would you wear right now?

Surprisingly (to myself), I like the Luca Luca. And not so surprisingly, the Suno. I can totally see the Luca Luca print on a short 40’s tea dress but with some structured accessories: pointed heels, black ribbed hosiery, a serious python clutch and leather gloves! Maybe some fur somewhere?

The Rag n Bone print reminds me of a local Santa Cruz skate company’s logo,
and I really hope I dream in Suno tonight!

I’m in love with the Jill Stuart print which reminds me of a 1940s palm tree print I have in navy and white…and I really need to sew up into a pair of shorts!
