The lovely looks of our prom-inspired vintage collection simply sparkled thanks to the bright eyes, big smile, and playful poses of Lauren, our marvelous model of the month. Below get to know the fun, earth-friendly gal whose photos have all of us at ModCloth wanting to go back to prom!

What has modeling taught you?
Mainly, it has taught me not to be afraid of taking fashion risks and liberties. I have learned that if you dress how you want to dress, people will appreciate your originality.
How do you express yourself?
I express myself by doing the things that I love with passion and dedication, whether it be gardening, volunteering, making music, or even sometimes studying.
If you had to cast yourself in a summer blockbuster, who would you cast to play you and why?
I would cast Kristen Bell because I feel that she embodies the same spunky and quirky spirit that I see in myself.
Meet Lauren, Our Model of the Month
What’s your hidden talent or surprising area of expertise?
I’m a band geek! I started to play the piano at age four, and during elementary school, I picked up the flute. Now, I play both flute and piccolo in my school’s orchestra. I enjoy the fellowship that I share with my fellow band members, and I couldn’t imagine living a life without music in it.
What’s your biggest goal or dream?
As a junior in high school, my biggest goal right now is to be accepted into my dream college. Overall, though, I really desire to have a positive impact on the world through my involvement in environmentally-friendly and sustainable practices. Always remember, “reduce, reuse, recycle!”
Describe your go-to summer look.
To keep it simple, I would go with a white dress, denim jacket, my favorite pair of fisherman-style T-strap sandals, and, preferably, a flower crown.
What retro trend are you excited to see come back into style?
I absolutely adore chokers — I know it’s a little odd, but I can’t get enough of them!

About Anna

Anna's the kind of don't-take-yourself-too-seriously gal who can spend an evening at Monday Night Raw and then turn around and write about nail designs and glitter with just as much sincere, unadulterated delight. She's a firm believer in cats' ability to see ghosts, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the fact that if she wishes enough, she'll never have to iron again.
