The Style Gallery is a great new way for you to view, love, and share outfit photos. It’s meant to showcase all the expressive, creative, and inspirational personalities of our community!
Remember “My Girl?” For the uninitiated, the film, set in 1972, centers around 11-year-old tomboy Vada Sultenfuss (played by Anna Chlumsky) and her best friend Thomas J. (Macaulay Culkin), who are spending their summer vacation doing what most kids do: riding bikes, climbing trees, exploring … and taking college-level writing classes.
Vada, the daughter of the local funeral director (played by Dan Aykroyd), is obsessed with death and disease, and lives with the near-constant belief that she’s either sick or dying, or both. She soon befriends the new makeup artist at the funeral home, Shelley (played by Jamie Lee Curtis), who helps her navigate adolescence and, later, the tragic death of Thomas J. (spoiler alert).
While Vada’s outfits offer plenty of normcore inspiration (think: lots of denim-on-denim, utilitarian overalls, and baseball tees), to me the real style stand-out here is Shelley.
Breezing into town in an (awesome) rust-bucket of an RV, Shelley rocks early-’70s boho like no other. Peasant blouses, flowy dresses, and embellished bell-bottom jeans may be the hallmarks of her style, but Shelley proves she has a little “bombshell” in her when she attends a particularly rowdy bingo night with Harry, Vada’s dad.
With the rise in popularity of year-round festival dressing, Shelley’s crochet tops, bell-sleeves, mini-skirts, and high-waisted denim are sure to inspire your own summer style.

I don’t think I’ve seen this film since it came out. >.<
I was 8 when it was released and I told everyone that I was Macaulay Culkin's girlfriend (so glad it wasn't true now). I loved this movie and it was so sad that I never saw it again (but now I must).
Love this movie and yes, totally love the outfits!!
