A Bit of Inspiration, and a New Year's Style Resolution

On Saturday night, ModCloth employees, and some of our wonderful customers, overtook the AVA/Shadow Lounge for our annual Post-Holiday Party and Benefit. The turnout was amazing – fashionable guys and girls from all over stopped by to enjoy the festivities. Drinks and dancing were in abundance, as was positive energy, enviable ensembles, and karaoke renditions of everything from Bruce Springsteen to Aaliyah. The best part? We raised over $1,000 to benefit the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh!

In addition to being charitable citizens with an affinity for fun parties, most of Saturday night’s attendees were ridiculously chic! For this week’s Style Inspirations, I’d like to highlight a few of my favorite looks from the party, and also include each person’s short n’ sweet style resolution for 2010! Today’s look is brought to you by Hilary, an English Literature student at the University of Pittsburgh. I love Hilary’s choice of disparate wardrobe separates – an edgy, cropped leather jacket and gloves contrast perfectly with her darling white dress. Her final touches? A charming pendant necklace and black opaque tights, proving that when it comes to spiffing up, you can’t go wrong with black and white and a few fine details! Finally, Hilary’s style resolution matched her captivating outfit: “For 2010, I hope to mix and match my favorite closet pieces with plenty of (faux) leather accessories!”

For a similar look, try pairing the Elk Encounter Necklace or the Owl-t on the Town Locket with the Wildlife Photographer Dress and the Guardian and Protector Jacket!
