Fashion Week Sneek Peek Finale! Day 8

As the last foot steps off the runway, we’ve taken a peek into what looks like a bright future for fashion! Just as quick as they hit the catwalk,  soon these looks will become a fleeting image in our minds until they resurface next Spring.

I found the collections on the final day to be a little more mainstream than those shown earlier in the week. Ralph Lauren’s designs were heavily influenced by menswear, in very crisp and clean pastel hues (a little too safe for me!) (second from the left). Isaac Mizrahi came out with a collection in similar pastel tones as well, but with what I found to be more interesting designs, boater hats, and luggage styled handbags (first and third from the left). Lastly, of the Thursday lineup, I found the Argentine Designer Collections series (two on right) quite inspiring, whose looks were bursting in color and ethnic charm!

Personally I’ve noticed the following trends have taken over the runway…

  • One-shoulders
  • Maxi Dresses
  • Menswear
  • Rompers/Jumpsuits
  • High-Waist silhouettes, from bottoms to swimwear
  • Bright Colors

Of these styles, is there one that you would leave behind? Or are you absolutely ecstatic for each and every one?

I adore those last two… I hope that someone does some cheaper versions. I’m very much a color freak!

I’m not a jumpsuit person…sometimes I really do think about adding a short romper to my wardrobe, but I’m never quite sure how to wear them without making myself look like I’m back in first school!

Because of my shorter torso I shy away from the high waisted garments.

I absolutely love maxi dresses! I have four of them now, one of which is thanks to you guys! (Rose Water Maxi)

The second picture of menswear is adorable. While I like the other looks, they aren’t practical at all and would just end up hanging in my closet. The look in the second picture is casual and cute. Looks comfy – something I could wear everyday! Love it.

I love all of those looks, specially the high waisted. I think the romper is only suited to some people, and the one shoulder is too 80s. Either that or it makes girls look much wider across the shoulders than they are. Maxi dresses are flattering on anyone!
