Purdy as 1930

It looks as though Rachel, who has posted this photo on Lookbook, has taken 1930’s style and stuck it in a blender with modern day sassiness.  What comes out is a frothy, delicious mix of fashions.  The period-style hat, stockings and shoes give off a demure air which contrasts nicely with the flirtatiously short belted dress.  Like any good concoction, this outfit has the ideal garnish – a chunky, bold necklace.  Do you think 30’s inspired attire is making a comeback?

To emulate this outfit, take a look at The Strata Dress, The Changeling Hat, Braid in Manhattan Belt, Suzie Cute Knee Highs, and Shady Lane Booties

I love 30’s style, especially the cute cloche hats. Maybe it has something to do with the recession? Haha…

I certainly hope the 30’s are going to make a serious comeback. There are few other eras in fashion – the 40’s, aspects of the 60’s, and some pre-1900 fashions come to mind – that were as effortlessly feminine and glamorous as the 1930’s.

Love it! 30’s style is so beautiful, I hope it makes a comeback soon! I’d say 50’s and late 60’s fashion is one of my main inspirations.
