Style Inspiration: Become a Nautical Ballerina

Style Inspiration

Ah, I love the way this girl has combined textures and prints and how it all works in such a lovely feminine and whimsical way. She looks like she’s equally ready to dance across a stage or fight pirates. Plus, the way she’s layered her look means it’s absolutely perfect for fall. I love it!

If you’re inspired by this outfit, try combining these pieces to get a similar look: the Double Feature Tunic, the Little Sweetie Skirt, The Nina Cardigan in Moon, the Corsage Clip, the How the West Was Cute Belt, and Rose’s Tights.

About Turi

When Turi isn’t blogging, you can find her nose behind a book. But reading isn’t her only pastime. She loves running (cue jogging stroller), taste-testing pizza and burgers, and working on the next great American novel. Her latest homage to all things literary? Her son is named after writer Dashiell Hammett. How apropos.

I’m not sure about the tights. They kind of make her look like she has leprosy. Sorry.

Hahah, leprosy statement. I don’t think it is that severe, but I think mustard or crimson tights would look better. Everything else is gorgeous though.

I love this… I think the stripes and the tulle are my favorite.

I love this too! She is gorgeous, and I think the tights just add to the quirky-ness of the ensemble!

    I adore this!
And I recently made a skirt kinda like this, so now I think I know what I’ll be pairing it with soon!

(Also, hooray for being back at college! =] )

Lulu, I’m not sure where exactly your hooray for being back at college came from, in the context of this thread… but let me tell you, I can TOTALLY relate. My family laughs at me and everyone else stares at me if I wear anything other than jeans/cargo pants and tanks/t-shirts at home (small-town America, *sigh*). >.<

modcloth actually carried those tights a long time ago. trust me, they’re great given the right outfit.

that being said, i think this is the right outfit, haha

I have a white skirt and black and white top that look almost exactly like the ones in this outfit that I wear together. That’s so interesting that someone else has an outfit similar to one that I wear. I don’t have the details of the belt and flower, but some of my own, but of course I love this.
