An Outfit Ripe for the Apple Picking

When fall’s foretelling nip is rampant in the air, nibbling just a wee bit on the tip of my nose, and the leaves are singing boisterously from the treetops in a campfire of colors, there’s nothing I want to do more than go apple picking. The ‘core’ of my favorite fall activities, apple picking necessitates an outfit that’s good for clambering around treetops in search of the Crispins, yet warm enough to protect you from the crisp air.

In this hand-picked outfit: Beauty by the Bonfire Top The Kim Shorts, Delightfully Warm Tights in Oatmeal, Force of Nature Boot, Buffalo Jill Belt, Trail Mix Hat, and Comforting Cocoa Scarf.

If you’re like me, you generally head out in jeans, but this year, why not ‘branch out’ a bit with an ensemble like the one above? Sweater tights to keep you warm, shorts to let you be limber, and a plaid shirt because, well, plaid evokes images of red barns, covered bridges, and other such orchard-surrounding delights. Top this amalgam off with your favorite jacket, then ‘peel’ out to a nearby orchard for some end-of-picking-season fun!

What are your favorite cool weather activities, and how do you dress for them?
