Outfit of the Week

Fancy party season may over, but my lust for pretty frocks lives on. For this Outfit of the Week, I’m presenting one of the hundreds of beautiful outfits I choose for New Year’s Eve whose spirit will live on in my wardrobe for nights on the town and cocktail soirees to come.

I started with the Amethyst Empire Dress. It’s feminine shape is ultra- flattering, and silk adds a touch of glamor to any event. Gloves are an easy way to bring classic charm to a look – it makes me feel like an Old Hollywood film star. I went with the Oolong Love Gloves. They’re not a perfect match, but don’t try to tell me that while I’m swirling martinis…you can make it work if you’re “working it.” Next, the glitz! The Cherub Headband, Golden Floribunda Necklace and Gold Medal Pumps add some sparkle while tying the look together.

Lets not be so quick to pack away those fancy dresses in 2009; there’s a lot to be said for going the extra mile when preparing for a night out. Who’s to say what being “overdressed” actually means? I wear four-inch heels to hockey games.

Party dress season lasts all year long! I’d rather be over-dressed than under-dressed! I love the peacock inspired looks ModCloth offers~
