A Vintage Children's Literature Anthology

This vintage Fave Find has a story all its own! We’ve been saving this submission to correspond with the launch of our fashion writing anthology, The Written Wardrobe

Who: Holley Maher of Girlish Whimsy (You may remember her from this blog interview!)

What: Anthology of Children’s Literature, 2nd Edition (1948)

Yard sale near Sedona, Arizona

How Much: $1.50

When I Use It:
“I nanny for twin girls, so I peruse it often to come up with some classic stories to share with them.”

Shopping Tips: “Yard sales are hit or miss, but even if you don’t find a stunning vintage frock, you might find something with great history. My lucky-charm boyfriend scooped this up for me, knowing my fascination for children’s literature. He paid $1.50 for it. I did some research when I got it (of course my curiosity kicked in) and it was appraised at $107! Nice! But I won’t be selling this anytime soon. And the inside cover has an inscription‘Doris Plummer.’ I love a good mystery!”
