What: Wine-colored coat (guessing early 70’s)
Where: Surprisingly, I found it at Plato’s Closet, 2843 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing, Michigan. Plato’s Closet usually only sells secondhand clothing that is fashionable and only a few years old. I’m guessing someone wore this coat and gave it to them, knowing that it would become a fashionable item again down the road.
How Much: $25
When I Use It: Three years ago, I used it when I went to Paris as a nice spring coat. Now I can’t button it around my stomach (now a size 6 instead of 2!), so I wear it unbuttoned over cute cocktail dresses.
Shopping Tips: When shopping secondhand, vintage, or for anything, try things you would normally never try! You’d be surprised how many items actually look good, but are neglected because they don’t look good at first glance.
