What do us peeps at ModCloth HQ do when it’s finally warm out? Snap some amazing outfit photos, of course! Our team took advantage of some sunny weather by rocking the latest ModCloth garb in and around the office. From downtown alleyways to rooftop gardens to art deco-style lobbies, San Francisco is truly a gorgeous backdrop (fog or no fog). Keep scrolling to meet a few of our lovely teammates, learn more about their style, & catch these looks in action!

How would you describe your personal style?
My style vacillates between your “typical” designer garb (aka all black/white/gray/silver everything), early ’90s teenage boy, and full on mod flight attendant. Style is an expression of my humor, my femininity, my strength, and what I stand for. I dig anything with eyes/hands/boobs on it. I think everyone should own at least 3 capes. I love bold designs, graphic tees, and playful pieces that surprise & delight. My closet is a third ModCloth (hey, I’ve been here for almost 4 years!), a third American Apparel basics (#RIP), a third vintage goodness (including some awesome pieces that are on permanent loan from my Mom), a third jumpsuits, and a third dance/workout clothes. Wait. That’s 150%. I have a clothing problem.

You’re showing a friend around SF. Where do you go?
There is so much to see and drink and eat in this wonderful town! Even though I was born & raised in San Francisco, I’m still partial to the classic city adventures. I love taking the cable car from Powell street to the Hyde Street Pier and then grabbing an Irish Coffee at the Buena Vista Cafe. From there, I recommend a walk to North Beach. Put your name down at Tony’s Pizza and, while you wait for a table, hit up City Lights Bookstore or the “Holy Trinity” of bars: Vesuvio, Specs’, and Tosca. If you’re still standing after all of that and are in the mood for some vintage clothes shopping, hop on the bus to the Mission and check out Painted Bird, No Shop, Afterlife, and Schauplatz. If you need a caffeine boost, be sure to stop by Ritual Coffee!

Favorite thing you bought recently? (Doesn’t have to be clothes!)
I bought the No Space Like Home Jumpsuit in both colors and would like to wear them every day for the rest of my life. I’ve also been taking embroidery, block printing, and macrame classes from the awesome Jennie Lennick at her studio in San Francisco. These new hobbies are a great way for me to get creative without having to be on the computer!

What’s one thing you never leave the house without?
I never leave the house without doing my eyebrows! Even if I have no other makeup on, a strong brow pulls any look together. Aside from avocados, eyebrows are my life’s passion.

Where would you rock this look? Beach, brunch…everywhere?
I LOVE this jumpsuit for summer. The cotton fabric is breathable for even the hottest weather, so wear it outside: brunch with friends, a picnic at Golden Gate Park, or a 4th of July BBQ!

What are you most excited about wearing this summer?
Maxi skirts! I love pieces that are “casual with a twist” and maxis are the perfect way to look effortlessly chic — you’ll rarely catch me on a weekend in summer without a crop top and breezy maxi.

What’s your fave thing about this look?
My favorite thing about this look is probably how comfortable the outfit was and how well it fit on my body. It is also very unique without looking outlandish and came together so nicely.

Any tips for summer styling at the office?
Make sure to bring and layer on sweaters and leggings for summer outfits at the office, as we have really cold summers in SF!

What’s a must for your busy workweek? A good to-do list, lots of coffee, downtime after work, etc?
A must is definitely getting in at least an hour of exercise a day, even during a busy workweek. It is important to take care of yourself!

What’s your go-to look during the busy workweek?
I’m a fan of dresses because there’s fewer items to match—just a dress and shoes. I also have a strong bias for dresses with pockets.

That dress is adorbs! What do you love most about it?
It’s fully lined and feels fantastic on; plus the skirt has just enough fullness for a low-key twirl.

What’s one thing you’re eyeing/thinking about wearing next?
I’m a sucker for bright shirt dresses, so I’m eyeing up the Just My Typist Dress. It even has pockets!

+How amazingly stylish are these ladies?! Ready to rock these looks (or plan a vacay to our city?)

About Kat

Kat never met a mustard yellow dress she didn’t love. Make that mustard yellow anything, really—see profile pic as proof! In her free time, she loves to act in local theatre, sip old fashioneds, & beg friends to grab Ethiopian food with her. Who’s in?!
