What We’re Loving: Trends That Are So Very Spring

There are a few perennial spring trends that return every year around the same time, just like tulips. Here, we define a few of these ever-classic spring looks that are always in style, and provide tips on how to take them in a new, unique direction for the season ahead.

The nautical theme is the epitome of a classic spring trend that is never, ever passé.  And nothing is more nautical than an anchor motif! Incorporate this unsinkable style into your spring closet with playful pieces that feature unique details (like chic collars, oversized prints, and more).

Stripes are classic, timeless, and perpetually chic — but don’t get tied down by the usual hues! Go beyond black and white with lighter, brighter hues, and amp up the playfulness by mixing in contrasting patterns, such as polka dots.

Picnic tablecloths and Dorothy’s jumper in the Wizard of Oz have forever tied gingham with classic Americana style. But, did you know that India, France, Japan, Italy, and other countries have all claimed this pattern as their own, so its origin is actually unknown? In other words, don’t just limit yourself to red and blue checkers when playing with this pattern! How fresh is that mint and white combo above?

Sea Creatures

Okay — we may be taking a few liberties with this one, because you might not think of these as ‘classic’. But, this is such a fun and feisty way to give a nod to nautical fashion! Add some statement-makers to your spring style with awesome aquatic animals in bold, distinctive prints.

About Cindy

Pun intended. Cindy loves dreaming up witty quips and groan-worthy wordplay. In fact, you could say this girl just wants to have puns. As an avid fan of the written word and a librarian at heart, she also loves used bookstores, especially ones that harbor cats. A lover of all things old, she takes every opportunity to nerd out on nostalgia.
